Ciro Guerra (64-A Films) carries Embrace of the Serpent's 2016 Oscar nomination, the Cannes Directors' Fortnight win, and Birds of Passage's 2018 Sundance opening. Alejandro Landes shot Monos to the Sundance 2019 World Cinema Special Jury Prize. Laura Mora won the San Sebastián Golden Shell 2022 for Los Reyes del Mundo. Franco Lolli's Litigante played Cannes Critics' Week. Víctor Gaviria has been working since Rodrigo D: No Future (1990 Cannes Competition) and continues to mentor the Medellín independent scene.

Marta Rodríguez and Jorge Silva's Cine de la Realidad school from the 1970s onward, picked up by Apichatpong Weerasethakul's Memoria (2021 Cannes Jury Prize, shot in Colombia) and the DOCMA Bogotá documentary lab — sits parallel to the narrative lineage. Our filmmaker network draws from all of it: feature directors who can also write, doc directors who can scale into branded content, and writer-director-editors who run lean unit projects from start to finish without losing creative discipline.

Here is how the work shapes up. Training feeds the working roster. Senior filmmakers in the network come through Universidad Nacional Cine y TV, PUJ Centro Ático, Universidad del Magdalena, and the global Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV San Antonio de los Baños Cuba programme that shaped Guerra, Landes, and the Mora generation. Industry routes run through FICCI Cartagena (Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias) for global launch, BAM Bogotá Audiovisual Market for co-production and rights, and the Proimágenes Colombia FFC plus CINA cash-rebates apparatus for funding — the same routes that global shoots use when packaging Colombian shoots.

Here is how it adds up. Our roster scales from single-director branded content in Medellín, to lean four-person documentary units in the Sierra Nevada or Amazon basin, to feature directors with their own producer-DP-editor teams in Bogotá and Cartagena. English-working ease, festival-track records, and recent global-production credits are verified before introduction. Contracts have intellectual-property assignment under Colombian Copyright Law (Ley 23 de 1982) and run under Colombian Labor Code audiovisual provisions where the filmmaker is engaged as crew rather than as an independent contractor.
