SCENE 01 / SPECIALTY RIGS
Specialty Camera Rigs
Advanced rigging solutions for your Colombian production.
Here is how this works in practice. Specialty rigs are purpose-built car platforms designed for mounting cameras and capturing dynamic driving, chase, and motion sequences. From Russian arms and camera cars to process trailers and insert cars, these rigs enable complex moving shots that would be impossible with standard gear.
Here is the short of it. We source specialty camera rigs and cars from skilled local operators who know the safety and tech needs of car-mounted filming. Our team sets up rig availability, tech specs, and logistics to make sure your unit can capture dynamic vehicular sequences safely and efficiently.

On Location
Russian Arm, Black Arm, gimbal packages and Aerocivil-licensed aerials across Colombia
Here is what that looks like on the ground. Specialty rigs on Colombian shoots are sourced through a small, skilled network. Russian Arm packages run through Imagen Latina with operators who've shot global features and commercials across Bogotá, Medellín, Cartagena and the Caribbean coast. Edge Arm and Black Arm 24' sites cover lower-budget pursuit and chase work, with camera cars and low-loader trailers handling the picture-car side.
Gimbal packages. Movi Pro, DJI Ronin 4D and Ronin 2 — ship out of Cinetech Bogotá, 5.1 Cine and Reel Films, paired with Easyrig vests for handheld long-day work in Tayrona, Sierra Nevada and on the four-day Ciudad Perdida hike where weight discipline is everything. Specialty operators arrive with their own kits and certifications. Our coordinator briefs them against the call sheet, security plan and route survey before truck-day.
Here is the breakdown. Aerials route through Aerocivil-licensed pilots and operators — drone permits filed in advance for off-limits airspace around Bogotá El Dorado, Medellín Rionegro and Cartagena Rafael Núñez, with manned helicopter wescam coverage for Tayrona, Pacific Chocó (Bahía Solano, Nuquí), Sierra Nevada and the Caño Cristales corridor. Caribbean water work in Islas del Rosario. The Tayrona coastline is supported by jet-ski and boat mounts with marine-grade housings. Our team sets up with port captains and DIMAR maritime authority for filming permits.
Here is what that looks like on the ground. DIAN ATA carnets cover imported specialty rigs through Bogotá El Dorado BOG. We plan around the Bogotá altitude (2,640m, ~15% power packs derate) and the Pacific Chocó rainfall (13,000mm/year) so a Russian Arm or gimbal package never lands on set in weather it can't handle. Multi-day specialty schedules get a dedicated coordinator from prep through wrap.
