Cinema camera packages prepped through Cinetech Bogota and the wider Colombian rental network

Here is the layout. Camera gear rental in Colombia routes through a defined set of rental houses — Cinetech Bogota as the dominant ARRI and Sony Venice anchor, 5.1 Cine as the second cinema package house, LaBu Films for combined camera-grip-lighting builds, AndaluCine for the Medellin spread, Camara y Accion for the Cartagena coastal corridor, and Dynamo Studios for the in-house gear retained from the Narcos co-production legacy — and our team books across those inventories to assemble the body, lens, support, and accessory stack a production actually needs.

ARRI Alexa 35, Alexa Mini LF, Sony Venice 2, RED V-Raptor 8K, Blackmagic URSA, and Canon C500 Mk II broadcast bodies sit at the centre of the request list, supported by Cooke S7/i and S4/i sets, Angenieux Optimo zooms, ARRI Signature Primes, Zeiss Supreme Primes, Atlas Orion anamorphics (the Monos look Mauricio Vidal pushed onto Sony Venice), and the vintage glass David Gallego favours for Embrace of the Serpent and Memoria-style anthropological work. Every package goes through documented prep at Cinetech or 5.1 Cine before delivery, with sensor cleaning, lens calibration, firmware logged, batteries conditioned for Bogota's 2,640m altitude draw, and media formatted to the DIT's workflow.

Global productions land most of their gear at El Dorado BOG cargo in Bogota, with DIAN ATA Carnet records processed through Colombia's customs authority and clearance handled by the same coordinator that books the rental. Road haulage runs the consolidated shipments and the inter-city moves — Bogota to Medellin 8 to 10 hours, Bogota to Cali 8 to 10 hours, Bogota to Cartagena 18 to 22 hours via Ruta del Sol — and the Pacific Choco corridor (Bahia Solano, Nuqui) goes by Satena or charter only.

Camera runners, focus pullers, and DITs trained through the Bogota ad-spot and telenovela pipelines (RCN, Caracol, Dynamo) can be added to the booking when prep support at the Cinetech cage or on-set help during a Sierra Nevada altitude unit or Cartagena Walled City night exterior is needed. Emergency replacement and cross-rental between Cinetech, 5.1 Cine, LaBu, and AndaluCine runs through the same coordinator. This matters when an Alexa Mini LF goes down on day three of a Ciudad Perdida or La Guajira schedule.

FAQ

Camera Rental Expertise

What camera systems are available in Colombia?

We source all major cinema camera systems including ARRI Alexa 35, Mini LF, and Alexa Mini; RED V-Raptor, Komodo, and Gemini; Sony Venice 2, FX9, and FX6; Blackmagic URSA series; and Panavision DXL2 and Millennium cameras. Specialty cameras for high-speed, underwater, and aerial also available.

How far in advance should I book camera equipment?

We recommend 2-4 weeks advance booking for standard packages and 4-6 weeks for specialized equipment or during busy periods (May-September). However, we maintain emergency availability and can often accommodate last-minute requests through our rental network.

Do you provide camera technicians with rentals?

Yes, we can arrange qualified camera technicians, DITs, and prep technicians to accompany your rental. Services include on-set support, daily camera prep, data management, and troubleshooting throughout your production.

How do you handle equipment for international productions?

We coordinate all logistics for international productions including ATA carnet processing, customs documentation, and delivery coordination. Our team handles the paperwork so your equipment clears smoothly into Colombia.

What's included in camera prep?

Full camera prep includes sensor cleaning, lens calibration, functionality testing of all components, firmware updates, battery conditioning, and cable/connector verification. We provide detailed reports and ensure everything is production-ready.

Can you source specialty or vintage lenses?

Yes, we source specialty glass including anamorphic lenses (Panavision, Cooke, ARRI), vintage rehoused lenses, and unique character glass. We work with specialty rental houses across Colombia and South America to find the specific look you're seeking.

Productions in Colombia that need this often pair it with Camera Support Systems, Cinema Lens Kits, and Lens Filters for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Grip Equipment and Audio Equipment Rental.
